FSRevolution: v1.5 Released!

We’re happy to announce that version 1.5 is now out for release! To download the update, follow these steps:

- Log-in to your client area at http://www.fsrevolution.com/order/client_login.php
- Scroll down to “Recent Order Activity” and click on “View” for the FSRevolution (1 Site) or (Unlimited) product
- Under “Your Licenses” click on “View & Download” for your license.
- Under “File Name” click on “Download” next to FSRevolution v1.5 (Base or Unlimited)
- If you’re unable to download because your support/update period has expired, you will need to renew this from the order area before you can download the product.

A FEW VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:

- It’s highly recommended that you make a backup of EVERYTHING before you do this update. We are not responsible for data lost because of this update. We’ve tested it many times in many situations, but there are always times where something doesn’t work for one reason or another. You should be prepared for this.

- As usual, if you have changed your user templates in ANY way, DO NOT upload the /smarty/templates or /smarty/templates/cash folders. You will, however need to upload everything else in /smarty for the update to work. We’ve also provided a text file as a guide for you to update your templates in the main directory (changed user-side templates.txt).

- Follow the update instructions as normal from the README BEFORE YOU UPLOAD THE UPDATE.txt file.

- Restriction of offer displaying by country is now built into the software. This means that users registered in a certain country will only see offers from that country. By default, when the update is ran, all offers are added to all countries. If you’d like to modify this in any way, you will need to visit the Manage Countries tab under Manage Sites and select the Assign Offers link from the country list.

- You may notice a slight lag whenever you view a user for the first time. This is because of a new caching mechanism that is being used to store some information about the user in the database, rather than calculate it on the fly. This will eventually speed things up and you’ll notice that if you view a user twice in a row, the second access should be much faster. We also highly recommend setting up the new Cron Job feature so that this task is done automatically without you having to view a user in the first place. Cron jobs will also run the new batch processing for mass e-mails as well as DirectTrack instant crediting.

- We will begin accepting customization orders in a couple of weeks after we’ve made sure all of the bugs are worked out of the new version. The way this will work is that you’ll send in your customization request and we’ll send back a quote. If the quote is accepted, your job will go into the queue. After the job is finished we will integrate the customization for you. This service will NOT include re-integration of your customizations with subsequent version releases that affect your customization. A separate fee will be assessed for that – most likely a small percentage of the original quoted price for the job.

- There are two addons now available for this new release: dynamic signature banners ($25) and integration of TeleSign’s phone verification system ($75). These are available from the Extras section of the order page.
