FSRevolution v1.8 Now Available!

We’re happy to announce what will most likely be the last release in the version 1 line of FSRevolution.  This release does not include any new features, but does fix a number of bugs, and most importantly, improves the scalability issues experienced with previous versions.  In beta testing, we found that almost all of our clients experienced a significant increase in speed in their admin panel.  We highly recommend everyone upgrade to this version immediately.

Please note, though, that this update will overwrite any non-design related customizations that you may have.  Your user-side template files should not be affected.

This update requires you to update your postback files – we’ve included a utility for doing so within the update.  Along with that, you will also need to update each of your site’s system files with the updated versions.  Instructions for accomplishing both of these items are included in the readme along with the update.

We have separate packages of this update available for all of our existing clients based on which version you’re coming from.  Users of v1.5 and below should follow the upgrade path up to 1.6 and then immediately upgrade to 1.8.  It is not necessary to update to 1.7, as all of those changes are included in 1.8.  There is, however, a separate update package for those using currently using 1.7.  Please make sure you download the appropriate file otherwise your licensing won’t work!

Currently, FSRevolution offers three (and a half for the cashback conversion addon) different site types: referral-based, points-based, or cash-based. These are the traditional ones, but we want to hear from you about what’s lacking with the current types, what new types you would like to see, and how you want to be able to set these sites up.

New Version! Skype Support! More About Hosting!

We have lots of news to report! Here are the quick highlights

To start, FSR has recently updated its licensing system to reflect the update to SPBAS, the new version of PHPAudit. This means several things, all of which are good:

• We can now offer many new pricing structures including monthly payment plans!
• Your client area is much more intuitive now. Your orders are organized into packages which have assets like your script license, support packages, and download packages. This also allows you to customize how much support you really need so you only pay for what you want.
• There is new licensing system in place now. Your old licenses should continue to function until you apply our latest update: FSRevolution v1.7! We’ve implemented the new licensing system in this version which allows us to leave a few more files unencoded than usual. This means your site should load faster, as there are less files to decode! The new licensing system also allows us greater granular control over your licensing, meaning addons are even easier to release directly to you!

We highly recommend everyone login to the new client area to download and apply the update as well as check to make sure all of your details were imported over properly. If not, we may need to manually create accounts and records for you, but be assured, your information is not actually lost.

Your login e-mail and password should still be the same. Make sure you check your licenses and packages and ensure everything is correct. If something is missing or incorrect, please e-mail us immediately at our support e-mail address with [IMPORT] somewhere in the subject line.

Speaking of support, we have some more good news on that front. Many of you have expressed interest in phone support for the script. We’re happy to announce that starting next Monday, February 1st, we will begin offering FSRevolution Support via Skype directly from the owner and writer of the script! You can either purchase pre-packaged blocks of time (15, 30, or 60 minute packages are available), or simply start with a one-time 5 minute call for $25. Each support call results in a minimum of 5 minutes being deducted from your allotment of time. After your package of time is used up, it’s simply $5/minute after that.

Support hours will vary daily so there will simply be an online indicator at fsrevolution.com. When support is online, you’re free to place your order for support packages through the main order area. Once your order is complete, you can call in via Skype for free! We will ask for some information from you in order to confirm your order and figure out how much time you have allotted or remaining on your package, then we are at your service.

Also as of February 2010, FSR will be hosting its own clients at reduced monthly rates! For existing clients, you have two options: we can either migrate everything to our hosting for you for a one-time fee of $75.00 or you can simply choose to handle everything yourself. Either way, you will still receive the reduced monthly rates for FSR clients as well as the many benefits that go along with that including: automatic FSRevolution updates, special addons, and optional backup and management services. For clients who currently own a Base license, our base hosting package starts at just $9.95/month. For owners of the Unlimited license (including those who have upgraded from Base to Unlimited), your base monthly rate is just $6.95/month! This base package includes 1 GB of disk space, 50 GB of monthly bandwidth, unlimited e-mail accounts, unlimited databases, unlimited subdomains, and unlimited addon domains! New Pricing Model & Features!

Everyone’s financial situation and needs are different and FSRevolution is sensitive to that. We have come up with a variety of pricing models and packages that should suit everyones needs.

As of February 2010, FSR will be hosting its own clients at reduced monthly rates! This is how it works: you pay a monthly fee which includes a hosting fee paid to FSR’s parent company, Green Ham Solutions, as well as payment towards your FSR license. After 6 months, you now own your license and are free to use it as you please. During those first 6 months, though, you must remain hosted with Green Ham Solutions. After that, you can simply continue receiving the many benefits of hosting with our own company (automatic updates, free addons, optional backup and management services) at reduced rates especially for clients of FSRevolution.

For existing clients, you have two options: we can either migrate everything to our hosting for you for a one-time fee of $75.00 or you can simply choose to handle everything yourself. Either way, you will still receive the reduced monthly rates for FSR clients listed below!

Even if you’d like to host your site elsewhere, we’re still offering a monthly plan for you! You pay a fixed monthly amount each month for 1 year and then the license is yours for life!

FSRevolution Now Does Custom Designs!

FSRevolution is excited to announce that thanks to the talents of its newly hired graphic designer, Nam, original custom designs are now available directly from us!  If you really want your site to stand out and grab the attention of potential users, a custom design is absolutely necessary.  The default design of FSR is meant to be replaced, which is a reason for its simplicity.  The blocky blue days are over now, though, and a new era of eye-popping designs mixed with current web trends is here to take your site to the next level.
